What is the opinion of, for example, the British and Australian English speaker about a Southern accent in the US?

The southern accent is known in any english speaking country...even in asian countries because of movies and music. The answer is yes, people from different countries like different accents. Like me, i go nuts when i hear a woman speak with an english accent regardless of what region they are from. Austrialian accent as good too. I am from florida and I went to europe and women love my "accent/dialect" just as much as i love theirs. Its the different way of hearing things. In fact, if you go in the USA, some people love the dialect/accents of differnt regions of the US.

I'm neither British nor Australian and I don't mind South Eastern US accents, but I hate listening to Texans.

Well I, personally, dislike it almost as much as I dislike the Scottish accent.

I don't know about Brits and Aussies, but Germans love Americans way of speaking! lol
