The wedding band goes on first , then your engagement band. The reason for this is Legends say that if your wedding band is closer to your heart, your marriage stays stronger. I wore my engagement ring until the day of our wedding. My husband put my wedding ring on at the same time as the engagement ring, then after the wedding, some people have them fused together. I didnt, because my engagement ring is quite large, and sometimes I dont want to wear it so I can just wear by band. It really is up to you, but I had always heard of this legend, and wanted to do what "sounded right"... Congrats!

During the ceremony, you can wear your engagement ring and your husband will place the wedding band on top of the engagement ring. After the ceremony, just switch them around! (Thats what I did) The wedding band goes beneath the engagement ring, closest to your wrist because the wedding band is supposed to be 'closest to your heart'

The wedding band always goes on the finger first, with the engagement ring over top of it to protect it.

wedding ring on the bottom, engagement ring on top. Of course, in time sequence the engagement ring comes first, but after the marriage the wedding ring goes first on the finger, to be closer to the heart

Yes, you wear the wedding ring first, then the engagement ring on top of that. One of the reasons is that you might want to take off the engagement ring sometimes so that it doesn't snag on something or get damaged or scratch your baby (in time that is). But you don't keep taking your wedding ring off and on.

I always heard that in this country we put wedding band on first and then engagement ring -- but in other countries they do the reverse. Personally, engagement ring then wedding band makes the most sense to me.
