I know this isn't a serious question but I have to answer anyway. Ever hear of Mike the Headless Chicken? No joke. This farmer cut its head off. They were going to have it for dinner. Well an hour later it was still alive. So the farmer waited. The next day the chicken was still alive. The damn thing lived 18 months til the farmer accidentally drown it. They have an annual festival in honor of this chicken.

Yes it is wrong, and it's illegal too. Animal cruelty I'm afraid. This would not be an experiment based in school but one you though up yourself, perhaps for an assignment? It could not be one the school is asking you to do, simply because there are many many laws about what type of animals a school can use, where they can get them from, the procedures that must be followed etc.
Why the hell should a bird have to die just so you can do an experiment which, in the end, will mean nothing as you did not have to do it.
It is against the law to perform experiments on animals, or kill animals for experimental purouses unless you have acquired the proper permits. Do not do it.

HELLO!? Your teacher could get in serious trouble. Why not use a computer generated image instead?
I would seriously check into the ethics behind animal cruelty and science. There are some very strict guidelines controlling for the use of animals and science:
Questions about these guidelines should be referred to the APA Committee on Animal Research and Ethics (CARE) via email, phone: 202-336-6000, or mail:
APA Science Directorate
Research Ethics Officer
750 First St., NE
Washington, DC 20002-4242
Violations of the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct by an APA member should be reported to APA's Ethics Committee by calling 202-336-5930, or by writing:
APA Ethics Office
750 First St., NE
Washington, DC 20002-4242
Violating these could result in the suspension of any professional certification. Its serious business; don't do it.

Consider this:
Somewhere way up yonder God is having a tedious afternoon after innumerable smitings and such, wondering "Is it wrong for me to decapitate a human for a science project experiment?"
The odds of Him choosing YOU as the subject of the experiment increase exponentially if you are mean to any creature unable to defend itself. Want to take the chance?

I don't see why. Doctors and hospitals experiment on patients all the time without their knowledge or permission. And you know what comes around goes around so maybe when you land in the hospital they'll do an experiment on you. How would that be for poetic justice?

It would be wrong for me. I understand if you feel bad about it. If you do not feel comfortable with it, refuse. When I was in high school I refused to do a frog disection and got an f, and its the grade throughout hs and university that I am proudest of.
However, if you do not feel wrong but wonder if you should, then you should do it. Noone can judge what is wrong or right for you but you. My motto in life is do what makes you proud of who you are.

I wish I knew where you lived. If your teacher is even suggesting this is a good idea, I'm gonna need her name, number, email address, and your superintendent's phone number...
