Excel is not free. It is part of Microsoft Office. Just download OpenOffice.org. It is free and will read and write Excel files and most other Office files.

I don't know about Excel for free. However you can download a free program called Open Office Org, that has something like Excel, and you can save your files as Excel files. It also has a word, PowerPoint, and other programs, pretty sweet, and free. Go to: http://www.openoffice.org/
