Nope . The brine is a natural preservative . Only occassionally will pickle juice break-down .

But don't eat other things that are 3 years old, you're bound to find trouble eventually.

It's only bad if the cap on the jar is puffed up. That is a bad sign. Generally, pickles have so much salt and vinegar, it preserves them for ages, and bacteria has trouble growing in salt.

Pickles last for years if left unopened. Don't worry about it unless there was mold inside the jar or tin.

They are safe to eat...... but I have found that as the pickling process continues the pickes get mushy... soooo if you don't mind a mushy pickle munch away !!!

of course it's bad!! you should not eat foods that expired a long time ago...just buy another one with an expiry date of 2007!

if the tin is closed enough and if you do not find any watery substance in it go ahead. but see whether there are any fungi ,, if not not an issue
