you need to have a cat scan done. most hospitals will help you even with out insurance. go to the emergency room when it happens and they will run test on you, also they will give you paper work to fill out for low cost or free insurance thru the state you live in. but make sure you go when you are having the numbness and go to the emergency room. sounds serious, good luck

RE:
my head ( on top, and right side) goes numb and tingles about once or twice a week?
i have no health insurance or money to see a doctor, I know thats what you were going to say. I was just wondering if anyone else experiences this, and what it could be a sign of and if i should even be worried about it?

I had a brain tumor removed almost 3 years ago, on the left side of my head! Now have a plate. I have had serious headaches half my life/ migraines... They are so much worse than ever, and in the past almost 2 weeks my right side of my head and forehead is completely numb?? Had cat scans done, but showed nothing, which I have to get them done anyways to make sure a tumor does not come back. But I have no idea why this is numb and why the headaches are so much worse :(

It could be a sign of your neck or even your shoulder being "out of whack," pressing on nerves and or veins/arteries, restricting blood flow. Whether you have insurance or not, you need to see a doc. You should definitely be worried about it; it doesn't seem right.
The cause could be chiropractic, it could be neurological.. and nobody on this yahoo answers can diagnose it for you. If you have no medical insurance, and no money, go see your state dept of health, because they should have assistance available for people with medical needs and no means. Seriously.
Otherwise, next time it happens, head for your local ER. They are obligated to treat you, and can probably help you get medical /financial assistance. If nothing else, you can get on a payment plan with the hospital for the bill. You definitely need a CAT scan or MRI to diagnose the problem. Best of luck to you!

You evidently have a compression of the nerve to that area. Suggesting you also have some restriction of one side, when turning your head. Would suggest some constructive stretches to allow equalization of the rotation. Will help in taking pressure off the nerve. If you want specific instructions, you may contact me.

You dont say how old you are. I assume you are under 50. Sounds like some sort of migraine or neuralgia from shingles. If you aren't getting other things such as dizzy spells or blackouts or weakness in your arms/legs, I probably would not worry about it. If you are getting loads of other symptoms, perhaps trying to get in touch with a doctor is worth it. One thing you could check is that your blood pressure is ok.
Hope that helps.

We don't have health insurance either, but I went to the free clinic and the doctor there told me that it is from poor circulation on one side of my body. He told me to keep warm on that side that was giving me the problem the most. I bought a long heating pad and sleep on it
Wow! it worked.
Look for a Free Clinic in your area and go see the Dr. in it...For more advise. Good Luck...

You might have a tumor. Or you might have migraines. You don't always have to have a terrible headache with migraines. Sometimes it can seem like you have a severe problem even though it's just a migraine. I would still go to the doctor and tell him. Just to make sure your okay!
