Yes. Salad bar seekers. They pick and choose what they want and leave the rest behind.

A devoted Christian follows Christ. It is difficult. But it is not impossible.

It sounds like you are describing denomination rather than believer. Perhaps she is in the wrong denomination if she chooses to not follow their practices. How defines devoted christian is there relationship with God. This is where i would measue someone who claims to be a believer.

There is a term.....it's called a cafeteria "insert denomination here". Like a cafeteria Catholic....it's referencing cafeteria style places where you can pick and choose from what is displayed in front of you.

The only way to be a"devoted Christian" is to follow Christ's teaching.....only she and God know if she is doing that...loving God and one another as we ourselves would want to be loved.

Probably SDA, they are vegetarians. However their devotion is to themselves and not to God. They are very legalistic, but do not abide by their own rules. The membership is generally very ignorant, and rarely educated. They are border-line cultist.
They believe in worship on Saturday and baptismal regeneration.

It is a wise person who carefully chooses what ideology to follow, versus blindly doing whatever one is told.

Those who blindly follow are sometimes called terrorists.

Yes... it's called not being honest with herself, her congregation, and God. And no, it's not right, but it IS common! None of us are perfect, and we do backslide on occasion. Try not to judge, but offer scripture (if you are in a position to do so) which caution her about such in her religion, and offer support. It's possible that being a vegatarian is something she WANTS to really do, but finds difficult. If all else fails, offer prayers on her account! God listens to all heartfelt prayers that are in line with his ultimate plan!

this person sounds very confused and they are not a true follower. at first i thought that this person would be called an apostate, but after re-reading your question i would have to say that this person is neither an apostate or in a backsliden state. they are just lost all together! confused and lost. this person is not a true believer at all.

HYPOCRITE
Honestly, if you are calling yourself "full-fledged" or "devoted" but don't follow the guidelines simply because you don't want to than that's hypocritical. Ever heard "Practice what you preach."
