This is why we cannot completely deport all the illegal immigrants: there was no "before they got here" cause we are a nation of immigrants, illegal or otherwise.
Our economy would crash because we sit on the shoulders of others. our system of economy makes everyone dependent on those who do the the grunt work and those who have less money.
So in answer to the prompt; the same people who do the "hard job" now would do it afterwards, we would just call them "legal" so they wouldn't have to leave!

The same people who did those jobs before the illegals offered to do them for slave wages. Except, those employers will have to pay an American a fair wage or his job won't get done. There are people here who need jobs that don't qualify for higher wage jobs. Those people would work for a nice wage. I know it's difficult for foreigners to realize, but all Americans didn't get a great education. Some of our citizens didn't get past middle school. They work hard labor jobs that don't require much education or great intelligence. There are people like that in all countries. We just don't have as many like that as Mexico does. To make up for that fact, we have others with ingenuity who can come up with machinery to do much of the manual labor those illegals did. Germany already has agricultural machinery that harvests vegetables without damaging it. We could utilize that technology here. Farmers could offer people the opportunity to 'pick-you-own' fruits and vegetables. I once did that in a strawberry field. Good price on the strawberries and they were delicious. Had enough to freeze plenty for through the winter. We won't fall apart without illegal labor, believe me. Never have, never will.

And just who do you think did those jobs before they came here ? The answer might just be the hard working Americans that did those and all other jobs for 200 years.

if we pulled all 12 million out today, it would be a DEVASTATING blow to the economy, crop prices, and constuction costs would go up.

the ones here now are not a problem, we just need to secure the border so no others get in.
