The last version of Windows is actually Windows Media Edition, released in 2005, but it is basically the same as Windows XP

It seems Microsoft just keeps saying this is the final windows yet they release a new one each time...as hardware advances so does windows therefore they may never stop making new operating software...the last windows therefore will be the windows they release before they shut down operations...which isn't any time soon...

XP currently. I have priority access with Gateway and they just told me Vista which was originally going to be called Longhorn will be released through them as soon as they get in Jan or Feb

XP is the newest version you can currently buy.. Vista is due to be released this January..
