I ate this type of cheese at a party, but I have no idea what it was. And none of my friends could tell me the right name of it. It was from a tray full of at least 6 different type of cheeses (cut in cubes). It was kind of soft, creamy, and tasted just like "CHEESECAKE". It was like eating cheesecake in small cubes. The color was a very light yellow, exactly like GOUDA cheese.

It sounds like it might be mascarpone, an Italian soft cheese as some one indicated. It is used a lot in baking as well as on its own.

Are you shure it wasn't a cheesecake bite? That's what it sounded like. It is a prepared dessert, not a cheese.

But you may have been thinking of havarti? It has the right color and buttery texture. Usually it is flavored with different flavors.

I am no expert but it sounds like a flavored Itallian soft cheese. Call your local shop.

It could have been mascarpone. Check the cheese department in your grocerystore, they probably have it.
