i am looking for something around $200, ultra compact, with aperture-priority or shutter-priority modes, image stablization, and good battery life. i have been shopping around on the web, but have not come up with a definite idea of what i want. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

I don't think you wil find all that you are looking for in that price range. I don't personally know the camera, but it looks like Antareport's suggest for the Kodak C875 comes close, if you find it at the right price.

If you go to http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp you can put in your features and see what they come up with. The ONLY ultra compact camera that has image stablization as wella s aperture and shutter priority that they came up with is the Leica D-Lux 3, but this is quite a bit over your budget at $600.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 is similar, but over $500.

Consider a Canon Powershot SD700 IS for about $300. It lacks the controls you ask for (I would too...), but looks like a decent package overall, except that it's $100 over budget.

Kodak C875 Silver 8.0 MP Digital Camera 1/1.8" CCD 2.5" LCD 5X Optical Zoom 5X Digital Zoom. This is the cam that i advice you to buy, it's great one with 5 optical zoom and excellent image quality, also it's cute and invented for cuties. Hope you enjoy it.

I am not really good with brands but I would try one that has good gb, clear pictures and especially one that does not eat up battery! If your shopping on the internet it might be harder, so try going to the mall and ask for help. (trust me asking for help almost always works!) Hope this helped and Good Luck!!

Kodak Easy is the best. It is easy to use, takes good pictures and is reasonably priced. I just got a Pentex and would love to have my old Kodak back!

Buy from Sony Cyber Shot series, these are good and will suit your budget.
