I have dark brown hair. I just want it a little bit lighter color, but not really blonde. What are some products that I would have around the house to help my hair color lighten up a little. I don't want to get it dyed, or tan in the sun. Please help.

Use lemon juice and a hair dryer - the lemon juice will give you highlights but needs heat to activate.

if the dark brown in your hair rigght now is a color(not natural), mix a concoction of equal amounts of johnson and johnson babyshampoo and head and shoulders dandruff shampoo, mix it in really good, put a bag over your hair, and put the blow dryer on it for about half hour. That will strip some of the color out slightly. I've also heard doing the same with lemon juice works.

my friend had very dark hair and wanted to lighten it without bleaches...she used hair dye that was three shades lighter than what she wanted and eventually it started to lighten her hair so then she was able to use the shade she wanted....

I don't know about stuff just laying about...Maybe lemon juice or peroxide, but you gotta be careful b/c that could screw it up in ways you dont even wanna know..

you might wanna ask your stylist...hope i've helped a lil bit...

use lightening gel. put a little bit in your hair while it's wet and blow dry it so it isn't stiff. when it is to the color you like then stop using it or you'll go blond.
