Best way is to make it a lifestyle, not just a diet. On a diet you give up certain types of things and when you get your desired weight you get back on them and gain it all back and then some. On a lifestyle change you keep the same diet for the rest of your life.
If you give up the rich high fat meats and the typical American diet, you will go far in achieving your goal and keeping it off. Many will say you cannot live on a diet that does not have a lot of meat in it but I can assure you it is possible and is more healthy. Just don't take a giant leap without learning more first. If y ou look at the Asian, you will find none that are fat except for those that have succombed to the American lifestyle and diet. So what do they eat? Carbs mainly. Rice, lots of rice with a lot of veggies with it and some nuts from time to time. And then those in this country say carbs are not good? come on!!! Tell these skinny Asians that and you will be laughed out of their countries.
So here is the deal. Eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, raw if possible, the more the better as it provides a lot of good fiber that you will need to fill you up without adding on the pounds. You cannot eat too much raw fruit or veggies as the fiber will fill you up before you have enough to make you gain an ounce. I can guarantee it. Add a few nuts each day, like a handfull of almonds or walnuts or something like that for your protein. You do not need near as much protein as most would tell you. Need very little as your body also produces it for you. Use whole grains such as rice, beans, lentils, wheat, rye, barley, etc. Once you learn to make meals with these and learn to do a vegetarian diet, you will not really miss meat. If you want some meat anyway, you can do some chicken without the skin or something like that but stay away from the seafood stuff as it contains a lot more cholesterol and fat than most want you to think. Not good for you. Check out the site below and sign up for the newsletter and you can get some really good recipes that you can enjoy in 30 minutes or less for a lot of them. Enjoy and remember to exercise daily, move around a lot and you will lose it.

Why not consider going on a regimen as when you were in the Navy ? The Organic foods are grown without any chemicals or pesticides. They are more healthful since they are naturally grown, and healthier for you. The calories in these foods are the same. Decreasing caloric intake, increasing exercise usually results in weight loss. Think slim !

actually just by eatting better will help you lose wait. My dad did that and lost over 20 pounds. He cut out soda and only drinks water and coffee (on the weekends), he eats tons of fruit and veggies, no rice, not a lot of bread, no sweets, etc. He now can fit into his jeans he hadn't been able to in 5 years, and even needs to get smaller ones! Big insperation. I'm at college and lost weight just by walking and eatting salads with every dinner.

firtly, organic isnt a diet. it just means the food is natural and without pesticides. organic is healthier for you, but it will not make you loose weight.
to loose weight you need to eat 500 calories less each day than your body needs. example: you need 2200, cut down to 1700.
drink alot of water and excersise, dont eat after 8pm because your body doesnt burn off calories while you sleep. eat unprocessed food such as whole grain instead of white bread which will also make you feel more full.

Try weight watchers. I lost 45lbs in 2.5 months. I have been on it for 6 months. I have lost 60lbs. This will save you alot of money cause you do not have to eat organic food.

Im going to tell you from personal experience. Im trying to GAIN WEIGHT, I can't because I dont eat enough. Ok when you are hungry, you body is eating the fat, and all the stored fat you have. You have to just let your stomach hurt when you are hungry. Let your body eat away the fat. Move around, dont sit as much. It works. I guarantee if you apply what I just told you, it will work.

Only thing I have found to work is to eat less.
What you do eat should be of the highest quality in terms of food value and as close to natural as possible, nothing packaged.
Eat meat, fish, poultry, fruits and vegetables, dairy, in small quantities.
