Nope, it doesn't have video. You also don't get a 'live preview' on the lcd screen - the screen is only used for the menus and to view pictures you've already taken, and you dont get a neat swivel screen.
What you do get, is a camera that absolutely rocks for action shots, low light photography, portraits, etc. The Rebel XT is not a Swiss army knife that does 10 things half assed - it does one thing incredibly well.

The XT does not take video.

No, Technically its not possible to take video through a SLR camera and hence no true DSLR has the video shoot capability
