...so I was intending to start working on my power point presentation today and SURPRISE, it said: "your copy of the Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003 trial expired". It gave me the option to purchase a full edition product key online, but damn that's expensive! I apparently do not have the option of only purchasing a key for Power Point, and not the whole Office Suite, do I? What are my options? I'm so poor, I can't afford this....

Buy it.

Or you can try Open Office for free. Visit http://www.openoffice.org and try the Impress program that comes with.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

You need to buy it . Not advisable to use a pirated version. Maybe if you are not using the computer for commercial purposes and just home use you could console yourself that you were not committing a major crime by using unauthorised software. Otherwise always buy genuine version. Very expensive for most but a lot of work goes into making software and I guess if more people opted for genuine software hopefully the cost of the software will come down. Sincerely hope so since I cannot really afford genuine software but conscience does not permit going in for the pirated versions which are so easily available.

Try Microsoft Office 2003 Student and Teacher Edition.. it includes Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint..
Newegg lists it for $129.. there isn't really any verification of student status.. plus the way the license reads you pretty much only need to know a student to be allowed to purchase it..

You can download a free office suite that has a module compatible with MS Power point at www.openoffice.org. It is open source so you can install it on as many PCs as you wish and pass it on freely. It also comes with a word processor compatible with Word and Word Perfect, a spread sheet compatible with Excel and other features. You can download it in minutes right now! If you already started your PowerPoint project, it will open it. If you start a presentation with OOOimpress, you can "save as" the PowerPoint file type so you can take to work or school and work on there.

Unfortunatley, Microsoft has you by the throat on this one. The full version of powerpoint is only availabe on Office Professional. You can buy an upgrade version but even then you are still talking about over $300.00.

try finding a program that simulates it. you might search the web for an open source version. open office has the word in open source, but i don't know if they have the power point.
you also might try deleting your trial version and re-loading it from ms, but i don't know if that will work.
