Only criminals have to worry about it. The rest of us just need to
stay out of the way of criminal activities.

Conversely, you stand a greater chance of being shot by a criminal
then by a police officer.

Thank you very much, while you're up!

No, it is not I MYSELF that is a thousand times more likely to be killed by a cop than a terrorist, because I am not out there dealing drugs, stealing cars, robbing, engaging in gang activities and so forth. You cannot average a risk over the entire population when it is disproportionately faced by a small group and then mainly because of that group's own behavior. Certainly, people die from falling off roofs. But the average person's risk of falling from a roof is zero. Most people never walk on a roof.

A second point is that you can't say the risk isn't there simply because we've successfully avoided it. The effort used to avert terrorist attacks seems to be working. This does not make terrorism 'safer'. Various successful attacks have proven this.

Finally, failing to cite sources or to say exactly what is being measured is a favorite tactic. Doing so usually exposes the slant of the allegation.

Yes that is true . Police have recieved a stereo type over the years as being honest people of integrity and morrals, like a boy scout .Unfortunatly that isnt true today do to the unchecked power and control government has granted them .Where they were once public servants, they are now government employees ,many times victemizing and preying on our public .Not to say that they all have this attitude but alot of them do . With the unchecked power they wield a citizen is helpless and at their mercy.Just a couple examples this week .Atanta police kick the door in of 92 year old woman who fired on them to protect herself ,police killed her and had the wrong house . Queens ,3 guys leaving a bachlor party police shoot and killed the groom (they had no guns and were not violent )2 weeks ago 13 people sherriff, deputies ,probation officer and K-9 handler are arrested for selling drugs (all kinds) and guns in S.C. had been going on for 10 years .There are many more such incidents ,this is just a couple .People need to open thier eyes to our police activities .Corruption in government doesn't lessen in dept. where the police have no police

Do the math...

2,752 people were killed in the WTC terrorist attack. That number x 1000 is 2,752,000.

2,752,000 / 100 years is 27,520 people killed by police per year.

27,520 / 365 is just over 75 people killed per day by police.

Roughly 200 people are killed by the police per year... far shy of 27,520.

Been watching too much CNN

It sounds true to me.Because I always see on the news cops shooting people more than anything about terroist.Like that shooting in North Hollywood.Where in 1997 these 2 guys attempted to rob the Bank Of America and a huge shootout like in a movie began. It was crazy.

My question is why must we always declare wars that can't be won? War on poverty, drugs, terror, etc. Its a bunch of crap. We're just setting ourselves up for failure. We should do all we can to stop those things, but calling it war is just a bunch of macho posturing.

you may decrease your chances of being killed by a cop by not breaking the law and cooperating if they need to arrest you. be quiet and get an attorney if arrested. go quietly. you have a right to remain silent. use it.
