For my wedding instead of dancing with my father for the Father-Bride song I will be dancing with my older brother! I can't find a song to dance to. I am not the usual girl!! I want a song that is unique (a rock song or something). My first dance with my future husband is Warmness on the Soul by Avenged Sevenfold, if that might help!!! Please help me!!!!!!!

As a wedding videographer I've heard and seen some pretty unusual dance duos/songs so believe me when I say dancing with your brother is neither unusual nor should it be uncomfortable.

There will always be critics who will question what song you choose to play when dancing with someone other than your spouse so try to focus less on what will impress everyone else and concentrate on what might have a special meaning to the two of you... something that really speaks of the type of relationship you two have.

For example... Is you brother your hero? If so then maybe Bett Midler's "Wind beneath my wings" would be appropos:

Excerpt from the song:

"Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and ev'rything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings."

Is your brother your buddy? Did you have your spats over the years (as brothers and sisters do) Then perhaps Garth Brooks' song "You've always been a friend to me" would better suit:

Excerpts from the song:

"Lord knows we've had our bad days
And more than once we've disagreed
But youve always been a friend to me

You can be so stubborn
Theres times I think you just like to fight
And I hope and pray
I live to see a day
When you say I might be right

And theres times I'd rather kill you
Than listen to your honesty
But you've always been a friend to me

You've always been
Time and again
The one to take my hand
And show to me its okay to be
Just the way I am
With no apology"

I know these two songs aren't "rock the house songs" but I believe they do bring my point home. The most important thing to bear in mind is that (in most cases) the majority of people at a wedding are close friends and relatives. Therefore this is neither the time nor the place for hypocrisy! Be honest in your song selection. As with a wedding toast a poorly worded untraditional but heartfelt one is far better than an eloquent or traditional one that bears no resemblance to the person or people being extolled.

Unique is good. But traditional is even better. I mean you can have a different wedding without it just being boring already seen that. But the Father daughter dance{in your case Brother Sister Dance} is important go traditional.

Personally I would pick a nice instrumental of a father daughter song. No words, just music.

How about "Sister Christian" by Night Ranger. It was written for a little sister of the band who was growing into an independent lady. A bit unconventional, but would be very fun.

My sister-in-law used "Somewhere over the rainbow"... it does not suggest who you're dancing with, it's just a beautiful song.

White wedding by Billy Idol

Hey little sister what have you done
Hey little sister who's the only one
Hey little sister who's your superman
Hey little sister who's the one you want
Hey little sister shot gun!

It's a nice day to start again
It's a nice day for a white wedding
It's a nice day to start again.

Hey little sister what have you done
Hey little sister who's the only one
I've been away for so long (so long)
I've been away for so long (so long)
I let you go for so long

It's a nice day to start again (come on)
It's a nice day for a white wedding
It's a nice day to start again.

(Pick it up)

Take me back home
There is nothin' fair in this world
There is nothin' safe in this world
And there's nothin' sure in this world
And there's nothin' pure in this world
Look for something left in this world
Start again
Come on

It's a nice day for a white wedding
It's a nice day to start again.
It's a nice day for a white wedding
It's a nice day to start again
