We are to see a specialist on Monday, but I am worried sick. Her patient report reads:

White Bld Cell Count - 12.7 (normal)
RBC-4.89 (normal)
Hemoglobin, blood-6.9 (low)
Hematocrit, Blood-22.9 (low)
MCV- 46.7 (low)
MCH-14.2 (low)
MCHC 30.3 (low)
Platelet Count, Automated-749 (high)
MPV-8 (normal)
RDW-37.1 (high)
Man Diff- n/a
NEU-38 (high)
LYM-61 (normal)
EOS-1 (normal)
Anisocytosis-Marked
Micro-4+
Hypo-4+
POIK-Marked
Ovalo-1+
Target-1+
Comments: Platelet morphology normal
Critical Value Response: Panic Value Called to and read back

I know this indicates she's anemic, but what do the other markers and highs and lows mean? Any help is appreciated.

Patience is a virtue, BUT.. not when you have a young toddler that has to see a specialist right..try not to worry Monday is only 2 days away and the doctor will fully describe what each one means if you ask. Dont pay attention to the silly answers on the computer or the internet they will have you worrying more. sorry

Does she have an enlarged liver and spleen? Is there a family history of repeated blood transfusions? Aniso., poikilo., raised RDW, ovalo- and target cells are suggestive of hemolysis, or red cell break- down. Hypo- and micro- hemolytic anemia is suggestive of thalassemia. I advise hemoglobin electrophoresis before blood transfusion.
