Tell me some of your own ideas about what Mona Lisa's smile means?

recently evidence shows that under the paint around her neck is evidence of a lace shawl which was only worn at that time by pregnant women maybe she was smiling about her child and wondering if that child would also be a famous artist like the gentlemen who was painting her at that time. that smile has been the topic of millions of conversations but no one has ever found anything about it in DaVincis note book of which there were many. you guess would be just as valid as any professor or art history or even any researcher that specializes in Davin's so what is your guess? come on now I told you mine.

It's the "natural" thing to do for a portraiture, don't you think?! My question has always been, "Why does the Mona Lisa command so much attention? She's not even particularly, if at ALL, pretty?" Didn't Leonardo have ANYONE else to spend so much time on? Or was she his paramour? Edit to UncleBen: Sorry! It wasn't Michaelangelo that painted the Mona Lisa. And Michaelangelo is his FIRST NAME. It was. . . .Leonardo DaVinci!

She was tired of sitting for the portrait and was talking while trying not to move her lips telling the artist to hurry up because she had to pee.

I think she's mocking the fragility of man and his weakness for beautiful women.

Leonardo started the session by saying,

"Do you mind if I paint you in the nude?"

...............and then took his trousers off.
