Oh Mary, Mary, Mary...you are so deluded. Our borders are a porous sieve through which THOUSANDS of illegal immigrants pour through each day. The estimate is at least 10,000 per day from our southern border alone.

Produce is rotting on the trees because less than 5% of the illegal immigrants streaming across our southern border want to work in the fields. They want the jobs that pay more, you know, those jobs that our president tells us Americans won't do, such as construction work, roofing, painting houses, road work, taking care of the spoiled American children, cleaning the houses of the spoiled American housewives, restaurant work...etc.

Because of automation, nearly all of those who grow crops for American consumption could afford to do without the illegal slave labor. They just choose not to and then b***h and whine because they refuse to pay a working wage which will attract people to do the work in the fields. Waaa waaaa....cry me a freaking river.

The American Government is using the illegal alien slave labor to drive the wage structure of the middle class into the ground. If Americans don't wake up and smell the frijoles, the American middle class will become a relic, much like the dinosaur.

I beleive they are using it as a means to alter our laws and life as we know it. 911 got it to where you are going through things "for your safety" that you never did before but God forbid they close the borders, secure our ports or do any common sense thing to actually "do" something about it. Peoples lives are being destroyed by ID theft and even though the technology is there to help curb it......they do nothing to support it. Our vital documents are basicly useless. They want those darned chips on us, or in us so bad, that they are not doing what they could be doing in order to curb it. They created the chaos, and that will be their "solution" to fix it even though it's already being reproduced illegally in England. Nothing like setting up a failed operation. How on Earth could we be so advanced one year and the world idiots the next. These illegals think they are doing such a great service and what they have done while screaming about "rights" are making it so more and more or our rights are gone. Even theirs if they grant them amnesty. A society can't keep functioning like this and the pockets are already past empty. There will be crackdown of some sort and it's not going to be pretty. For anyone.

This is merely the effect. The cause is big business owners who hold the most control over Congress. They want the cheap immigrant labor. So no matter what bad things happen as a result, there will be no real immigration reform.

The economy of the Southern U.S. took a nosedive when slavery was abolished, and Big Business is not about to let it happen again.

To Mary: so, let them pay minimum wage and the rest of us can get ready to pay what it really costs to have pears. Immigrant slave labor has propped up this economy for too long.

Did you see, in the news, that the Pear growers in the state of Washington had a bumper crop this year but they couldn't find anybody to pick the pears so they are rotting on the ground? Because the border guards are preventing migrant workers from entering the United States, soon it will be law that either the farmers will have to pay minimum wage or Americans will be forced to become migrant workers at sub-minimum wages. They will probably make people receiving welfare to go pick grapes this year and get paid by the amounts of baskets they pick.
