Anyone know how to remove carpet glue from wood floors with a homemade solution? Besides the putty knife and scraping.. The carpet comes up and the padding stays firmly glued! It's a old house and I think the carpet has been there for at least 20 years or more.

very hot water should work. Otherwise there is a product called goo gone. Check with your local home improvement store for ideas.
