is it possible that you are mis-reading the .800 and it's actually a .300 ? very close in some machined etching.

um, no alex, it's NOT the caliber......
I'm not 100% certain but it's possible the barrel is a bull barrel and the .800 marking is the barrels outside diameter (OD) take a ruler and measure across the bore end, if it's a little larger than 3/4 inch, then it stands to reason the .800 is the outside diamter of the barrel.
