There are lots of reasons he might have said your mother's name. His mind might have been wandering during sex, and he might have been thinking "what if her mom were to walk in right now?" or thinking something else about your mother. He might not have been thinking about your mother in a sexual way.
And, wierd as it seems, I've heard that men think about sex with just about every reasonably attractive woman they see.
He probably wasn't fantasizing about your mom but, if he was, he was just being a guy. Obviously he's feeling really bad about it and trying to make you feel better - sounds like a good guy to me.

OK, so your happy with a guy for two years then just because he says a name similar to yours whilst he is drunk in the middle of passionate sex you are going to dump him?
I know it isnt nice sometimes sweetheart but men do have fantasies. It isn't nice to think about but maybe he was thinking about your mom, maybe he was imagining having a threesome, there is all sorts of explanations.
You are right though, the fact he is lying about it is only making it worse. He just needs to admit what happened then you can talk it through. If you trust your mum and you know nothing is going on there, you migth just want to put it down to a bloke being a bloke.
Good luck hon x

There is no good advice now for you and him because you have already jumped the gun and sent him packing, Next time don't be so quick to make a decision, you said yourself that you and your Mom's name is similar names. This very well could have been you and don't say it couldn't happen because it could and now it probably will, that is how life works and teaches us. Just because he didn't admit to it, you don't know what he thought he said you can't read his mind no matter how well you know him. Good luck.

If he was drunk and you have a similar name to your mom, then are you SURE that's what he said? People slur and talk funny sometimes when they've had lots to drink. If you've been together for 2 years and that's never happened MAYBE it was just a mistake? I would be hurt too if my man said anyone else's name but also I'd be positive before I dumped him after all that time. Good Luck

Is your mom's name "Sandy" or something like that?
Drinking causes slurring...he probably did say it, but because he was drunk and didn't say your name right.
He is probably denying it because that is not what he meant to say.
If he has been a good boyfriend otherwise, stick with him. If there is obvious attraction to your mom or something, I would give yourself some time away from him to think about it.
Regardless, it does kinda hurt and if you know there is nothing going on between you and your mom, just hang out with friends for a couple of days and let him know you need a little space to get over it.

Take a deep breath, it is a common thought among women that this happens because we are thinking of that person whos name we shout out. Most of the time this might be true but alot is going on while having intercourse and it seriously may have been a slip of the toung and mean nothing at all. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt, I mean you dont honestly believe hes doing your mom do you. Is your mom hot? Has he ever displayed an attraction to her before? Good luck!

That's it? I thought maybe your man had actually cheated, or was abusive, or something serious. Apparently the guy had a brain slip and blurted the wrong name, which is certainly a plausible alternative theory which would be better for you to believe than that he wants your mother. Should you forgive him indeed. Besides, even if he is attracted to your mother, it happens. Chances are he may be, supposing you have one that's of age, attracted to your sister. That's how men are. We are attracted to different people, but it doesn't mean we love all of them at the same time, nor do we all act on desires we have. What you are doing is taking a small issue and exaggerating it to avoid bigger ones. So, what is, if you will share with us, the real problem?

Well I'm a dude so I don't know if my advice counts. If it's so easy for you to call it quits over the slip of your drunk boyfriends tongue then I don't think you love him very much. At the end of your question you said God bless and lets not forget that God forgives. So should you.

wow that is a weird thing to happen. Given the situation of him being drunk, I honestly wouldnt even worry about it. If it was me I probably woulda laughed and called him a dork. He's probably only denying it because he really doesn't remember or he feels so bad/ashamed/embarrassed. And he apologized! If thats the worst thing he's ever done in 2 years hes an angel!

I was once in a similar situation where i was drunk and said the wrong name. it was her friend's name. We weren't together as long as u and ur man are and my girlfriend forgave me so i think it is very forgiveable. It might take a while but it is possible but u will never forget it u just have to let it go.
