my work is having some kind of potluck dinner,i dont want to go.because i think it will be boring,how do i get out of this??

Just don't show up. You can come up with any number of excuses later. You don't even have to tell people you aren't coming. In fact, let them all think you are coming and then don't show up. It makes your last minute excuse more believable.

If you simply don't show up, you can be all mature later and explain, "well, I just really didn't want to go as much as I thought at first. I ended up blablabla-ing instead. How did you like it?"

Just don't go. Say "I'll try to come........no promises". If you don't like doing this, just say "I won't be able to make it".
