It is hard for some parents to let their child leave the nest. Are you mature enough to be on your own? Are they not letting you go away to any college or just a college that you picked out. Show them that you can be own your and will be able to take care of yourself. Try to work out a compromise,

How old are you? Do what you feel if right! But if they're paying, I would say go to a community college for 2 years and then move onto a university.

Go to a community college this year and do very well, then next year transfer to another college.

they are just worried about you in college and don't think your ready or something. but tell them a good reason why you want to go to college .

don't let that hold you back,check in to your local ones and start there and work your way to another if you wish to do so.
