It is hard for some parents to let their child leave the nest. Are you mature enough to be on your own? Are they not letting you go away to any college or just a college that you picked out. Show them that you can be own your and will be able to take care of yourself. Try to work out a compromise,

How old are you? Do what you feel if right! But if they're paying, I would say go to a community college for 2 years and then move onto a university.
