Christ was angry with the pharisees for the way they practiced their religion"they were hypocritical and avaricious more concerned with form than substance" He did not however tell the peopled to stop practicing or of course did he do so himself, instead he reformed it by sacrificing himself. In today's world if people are dissatisfied with the way in which their leaders are behaving they should ignore them and remember that they themselves are the church not their leaders

The human side to Jesus had to maintain his integrity with the current Jewish custom. Had He not done this, He would not have appealed to the common people. I think if you want to maintain your status as an official Catholic, yes, would would need to follow Catholic teaching. But, if someone is that dissatisfied with the Church leaders, then find another denomination that you feel called to....look within and you will find the answer.

Jesus was never a rebel against the Jewish religion, nor did he found a new religion. The things he said against the Pharisees were put in his mouth by a later, Gentile, Church to attack the Jews for not going along with the new religion.

Christ continued to practice Judaism because it was the religious leaders who were straying from true Judaism and instead following earthly practices for temporal gains. The fact that someone else desecrates your religion does not mean the entire religion is now corrupt and evil.

That was the religion of the Jews; and Jesus was a Jew. It had nothing to do with the Pharisees who should have done a better job of practicing it too.

You are serving God not man.If we only serve because of the leader than we will fall when he falls.Men are given to temptation and we all fall short in some ways. The leader of the church is only that a leader and teacher. He or she have spiritual battles of their own and and give in to temptation as we.If you only follow a man you will always be lost. What they do shouldn't cause you to turn from God,He will never turn from you,it is us who stray from the message, the messenger is only that,a messenger.

Judaism is the religion, the pharisees were just those who represented it. just because you don't agree with the leaders is no reason to leave a religion, if the religion is right. humans are wrong.

Why would you say that? Jesus challenged the religious teachings of
His day. Saying, "All men teach for doctrines are the commandments of
men. And they know nothing of the weightier matters of the Law,
like judgement and mercy!

Just because we don't agree with our elected officials doesn't mean that we revolt against the entire legal system. Sometimes the system can be good...and the people running it corrupt. This is the position Jesus found himself in.
