Is it possible to cut your own head off?

I guess so, if you happen to have a chainsaw to hand and found a way to drop it on your neck. Otherwise, I suspect you'd be dead before you finished.

It wouldn't really be possible, because you'd probably bleed to death by the time your head came off. And, if that person was trying to commit suicide, cutting off your own head wouldn't be a very good way to do it.

well i guess it was attempted suicide if someone tried to do it to themselves.

I read in the paper once that a man made a home made guillotine connected to an alarm clock. he went to sleep and set the alarm and when it went off it killed him. sad but true.

If you mean hacking away with a swiss army knife - probably not as you'd pass out before you got anywhere.

Hmmm I guess you could do it by guillotine, letting go of the rope yourself, but if you just mean hacking it off with a blunt instrument, its going to hurt like hell and youll loose conciousness before severing it entirely.

I suppose if you had a guillotine available it would work because it would come down and lop off your head in one clean sweep.
