Check out the World Health Organization's Global Alcohol Data Base. To get there you must follow the links in this order:
1. http://www.who.int/topics/alcohol_drinking/en/
2. Find link "Global alcohol database" and follow it. New page appears.
3. Find link "Data query to search the contents of the database" and follow it. New page appears.
4. Perform Customized Search (You should be able to figure out how to perform the search. When you select each option, wait a few seconds for the page to update its info.)
When selecting year, go back to 2000 or so. The most recent year (2004) has incomplete data. Also, you will be able to export the data to an Excel file.

Swedes, Russians. Places where it's really cold. I know Russians drink vodka with meals instead of wine. In Italy, in the North near the Alps they drink lots of grappa.
