i think it's a boy's name from the looks of it. i had a classmate called Jowell and he's a boy. Maybe if its Jowelle, it can be a girl's name but it's looks weird to me

It's actually spelt JOEL - JOWELL means those floppy bits round a dog's mouth. Don't give your kid a name he's gonna be bullied with in school.

i guess Jowell is a boy's name, a slight diversion from Joel...
if it were a girl, it would have been Jewell or Jewel....
well, with the latest trends you can never tell anymore.
i know of a boy named MICHELLE (really!!!!) and a girl called DANNI..... so, anything goes, really.
