Labas, Kipe Touw?

I only ASSUME by your name that you are of Lithuanian DESCENT-or from that region(area). Another ASSUMPTION, is that the English which is written here in post, is OBVIOUSLY your own, as it is not perfect-BUT ALMOST Vinicius! So, at the stage and level of knowing English you are at now, I SUGGEST that you read books (keep a dictionary and a verb conjugation book with you when you read these books, for help and understanding), and also, find reasons to have CONVERSATIONS with intelligent people (Ones you feel who will know the English language in the PROPER way it should be used) It does not matter where you are from, these tools I mentioned should VASTLY improve your MASTERY of the English language very, very quickly. The very most important thing about learning a language (to be able to COMMUNICATE), is to have the ABILITY to "CONVEY" a MESSAGE, and understand one also. I wish you great luck Vinicius. The post you made conveyed your message in English very clearly. Good Job.

Since English, and depending on where you LIVE, English, has so much "SLANG" and "IDIOMS" I also suggest you pick up a book on these -as well (also).

English is mix of other languages, spelling and grammar are rather complex since the rules nearly always have expectations to them.
i suggest that you look for a nigth class, in a local school for English at a basic level, to start, this should improve the English you are using now, which is not bad.

with regard to spoken English, some words have several meanings, this can cause confusion, as found out myself once, i was left rather red faced.
even i have trouble with certain words used in different context , to what i am used too. to solve this problem i just ask what do you or does it mean the same as this.

Vinicius, try a good English program on CD or DVD. If cost is an issue, Google has a great translation tool where you can write anything in your native language and it will translate it into English. I have actually taught myself a great deal of Spanish using this! Good luck!

I can teach you some expressions called cockney ryming slang:

Winnie the Pooh = Shoe, Example "You have a nice pair of Winnies"

Daffy Ducked = Fucked "I need a new car, my old one is totally daffy ducked!"

Danny La Rue = Clue "You ain't got a Danny La Rue mate"

Fakey Ned = Bed "I'm off up the apples and pear to Fakey Ned."

Apples and Pears = Stairs

Hey,
The ability to read is vital for success. It helps your child succeed in school, helps them build self-confidence, and helps to motivate your child. Being able to read will help your child learn more about the world, understand directions on signs and posters, allow them to find reading as an entertainment, and help them gather information.

Here you can find a step-by-step online program that can help your child learn to read: http://readingprogram.toptips.org

Learning to read is very different from learning to speak, and it does not happen all at once. There is a steady progression in the development of reading ability over time. The best time for children to start learning to read is at a very young age - even before they enter pre-school. Once a child is able to speak, they can begin developing basic reading skills. Very young children have a natural curiosity to learn about everything, and they are naturally intrigued by the printed texts they see, and are eager to learn about the sounds made by those letters. You will likely notice that your young child likes to look at books and thoroughly enjoys being read to. They will even pretend to behave like a reader by holding books and pretend to read them.

Well, start by getting some easy-to-understand books in English and read them, this tends to help you pick up on vocabulary and expressions. Get an east learn English language CD and listen to it as much as possible - even put it in your MP3 player if you have one.

Hope this helps.

Television is produced to the cheapest common denominator - i.e., the common IQ of the general public, whereas a written reserve is written to the highest common denominator
