He is disappointed that you did not do what he thought was best for you. It is a completely normal feeling for a parent.
The next time he makes a comment, just say (calmly) Dad, I am happy there, and since I'm the one that has to do the job, can't you just be happy that I'm happy? And then leave it. Don't get drawn into a long drawn out argument, just leave it.
In a couple days he will realize that you are right.
Congrats on having a job you love.

Make your Dad a handwritten invitation for lunch. Cook his favorite thing and then talk with him about your concern. Start by telling him how much you love him and how important he is to you. Then tell him how it makes you feel when he says that to you. Tell him you know that working at a book store would probably be more intellectually stimulating but at this time in your life you want to have fun because you are young. And you have an interest in fashion and you feel this job will help you to discover if you want to do more with it as you get older.
His comments are because he cares for you. He is not saying it with malice. Have some compasion for the old guy :)

Its your life, your job, your paycheck, your decision to work where you want to. Your father has no say what so ever in what you want to do. Keep your job and no longer discuss it with your father, he obviously is not interested...finding a job you love to do is hard for alot of people, the fact that you found it is really cool, dont let your dad ruin it for you

nothing you can do except show that you are happy at your job and able to support yourself by doing what makes you happy. my gf got a lot of stress from her family when she decided to stop working at the bank and pursuing after her degree to go work on the ambulance. but she loves her work and is able to maintain herself by doing it. just remember that you will never be able to make everyone happy. so just make sure that you are. you are the one that has to live with your decisions, no one else does.

There is nothing you can do at this point, what is interesting to him may not be interesting to you. Just do very well at your job and in time he will learn to accept it.

You should tell him that the job you picked is for you and your interest and not his. He should be glad that your working, with all of the spoiled, lazy kids that are growing up now

There isn't much you can do. Just excel at your job and stay excited about it. Sooner or later he will see that your job is fulfilling you.

Tell him your interests aren't the same as his. Then ask him why he won't appreciate you for who you are.
