Yes speaking in tongues should be part of your daily prayer to the Lord. The Bible also cover speaking in tongues in 1st Corinthians chapter 14 please read what Paul wrote; you will be blessed. But one advise I would give to you is when you pray in the Holy Ghost (Tongues) make sure it is what God birth in you.
I hope this Help?

One thing I have found helpful to consider is when people say they speak in tongues today, does it follow the pattern of speaking in tongues in the first century? A close comparison shows that it is not.
Modern communication technology that enables us to send messages earth wide in many languages did not exist back then. The gospel had to be spread primarily by word of mouth, and in this the miraculous gift of speaking in foreign tongues would helped quite a bit. Thus we read about this as first-century Christians preached to Jews and proselytes in Jerusalem at Pentecost 33 C.E. Parthians, Medes, Elamites, Cretans, Arabians, inhabitants of Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, and the district of Asia, as well as sojourners from Rome, heard “the magnificent things of God” in their own language and understood what was said. Three thousand believers were added. Acts 2:5-11, 41.
First Corinthians chapters 12 through 14 focus on the miraculous gifts of the holy spirit. God gave these to some as an indication that he was no longer using natural Israel but was now blessing the Christian “Israel of God” described in Galatians 6:16.
These gifts – including tongues - were building blocks of a sort – they helped to establish the infant Christian congregation and helped it to mature to adulthood. The apostle Paul explained that after having served their purpose, these miraculous gifts would eventually stop: “Whether there are gifts of prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease.” So we read at 1 Corinthians 13:8.
So scriptures make it clear that these gifts – including the gift of tongues - would cease to exist. When? Acts 8:18 reveals that the gifts of the spirit were received “through the laying on of the hands of the apostles.” So when the last apostle died, passing on the gifts died too. When those who had received the gifts from the apostles died, the gifts themselves would disappear. But no matter because by this time, the Christian congregation would be well established and would have spread to many lands.

Matt 16:17-20 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them: they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 ¶ So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
I do believe that the church will return to these things as Jesus taught.
Yes I believe that all the gifts are for today and we will soon see the church return to them.

yes, and it will always be because that is the evidence of the new birth, evidence that god has accepted your repentance from dead works and your faith towards him through Jesus' atoning work in Jesus' death and resurection. That is your confession of faith towards God though christ jesus and gods answer through you by his spirit in you
