My son has a calico with extra toes and it is almost like she has opposable thumbs like a human as she almost uses them that way.

Polydactyl (Latin: Many Toed). Some Asian cultures believe they bring good luck to their owners. Ernest Hemingway owned & admired them, and descendants of his original cats still roam his estate. The caretakers let a few have a litter & keep some, and have a waiting list to place the others in good homes.

p.s.Calico cats are also considered good luck - so your cat could be considered double lucky!

Polydactyly, or polydactylism, also known as hyperdactyly, is the anatomical variant consisting of more than the usual number of digits on the hands and/or feet. It is a congenital abnormality, usually genetically inherited as an autosomal dominant trait. When each hand or foot has six digits, it is sometimes called hexadactyly.
