I am having a 'surprise' dessert party for my husband birthday and I was wondering which wine to serve. I'm making the tiramisu with amaretto (and a splash of rum). Any suggestions? White? Red? Port? Help! I'm serving coffee too!

port and red wines are too heavy for dessert, the best would be to go with white or if possible a nice rose!

I would recommend either a sweet white wine (In France I'd use Monbazillac or Ste croix du mont, but I don't know what you have access to) or try something more daring and use Marsala wine, which should provide an interesting complement to the taste of the tiramisu, as it has not been used to soak the sponge cake.
