I think it would be a terrible mistake for the U.S. to withdraw at this time. In order for Iraq to be a stable country, we should probably stay there several more years, at least. Here's how I got there:
We must never fail to consider what happened in Iraq: we toppled a hateful leader who engaged in systematic genocide; but at the same time, we toppled a government that, through incredibly strict enforcement, prevented sectarian violence, aside from the sectarian violence promulgated by the government. Now that there's "freedom," Iraq is in a state of civil war. Anyone who denies this has blinders on. The knee jerk reaction of many in the U.S. is "well, it's their civil war, we should leave now." WE CAUSED THE CIVIL WAR! If we leave now, the weaker side that's in favor of stability and democracy will lose. PERIOD. This will further destabilize the Middle East. Is this in the Middle East's best interest?
Aside from the huge loss of life, the Viet Nam war caused the American people to lose their bravery. Oh, we talked brave in the beginning, but now that it really comes down to FIXING the problem, suddenly the lives being lost in Iraq are too much.
If Americans had this same sentiment during WWII, we'd all be speaking German right now and the Jews would have been completely exterminated.
We should be ashamed of ourselves for even thinking it's acceptable to invade a country, destabilize it, then go running when the REAL work begins.
Just my two cents.

If we knew the whole situtaion we could make a better opinion but from info we do have I think we need to change the plans and start getting out of there- I also wonder if we are not being told everything as to why we are there in the first place.
May God be with the troops and their families-

Yes! They are causing more problems now
They helped at first, but are now interfering and causing a civil war. Things are worse over there than the media is letting on. Even the sectarian violence was brought on by debate over American interferance. The Iraqi people dont like to be dictated or watched over by other countries. Give them a chance on their own. Look at it this way: IT OBVIOUSLY ISNT WORKING anymore. People are oppressed. People are angry. They want their religion involved in their politics. They dont want America dictating how they should live their lives. It will continue blossoming as a civil war.

There's no sense in our men being caught in the crossfire.
Let those Iraqis kill each other.
It isn't any of our business.
I don't know why we have to keep sending these people aid and all that when the Saudis and Emirates are so rich and should be doing these things for their Muslim brethren.
And al Queda can take it and do you know what. Like we give a damn what they think.

"us of a of america" does not lose if we pulled out of Iraq; the Bush administration and with the aid of association the GOP could lose because of the fact it could be a tacit acknowledgement that the finished difficulty substitute right into a bad mistake and that it substitute into dealt with with criminal incompetency. additionally, Halliburton and Blackwater could unfastened a boatload of money on the deal if we left. the wear is finished. Iraq is deep right into a civil conflict and is an rather good breeding floor for terrorists. If Iraq is ever going to transition into something comparable to a excellent, demogratic united states, they'd do it in basic terms as right now on their very own as they'd with our help. we would desire to refocus on a protracted-lasting victory in Afghanistan formerly it falls thoroughly back into chaos, we would desire to rebuild our depleted armed forces and we would desire to apply our blood and treasure to do away with our dependence on distant places ability, quite oil.

It's a shame that you have NO CLUE what is happening in Iraq... listening to the Liberal Media with their hidden agenda will only deceive you on the real issues and problems over there.

I think we should have withdrew when they finally got to vote and had their "security" police in place. (In all honesty, I don't think we should have been there under the pretences our Gov't gave us... and this should have been done during our first "war" over there)
