Even men...are in the state of Junub after ejaculating and need to take a bath before praying. Ejaculation causes breaking of fasts too.

I cannot honestly answer according to your religion as I am not a Muslim woman, but I can say that most women are probably grateful for not having to pray during menstruation lol. They are bloated and cramping and probably not feeling very prayerful if they have to go down on their knees and bend all the way over .... you get the physical drift of what I'm saying?
But as to why menstruation is considered impure, I imagine it goes back to the days when in the desert, Moses and his folks got the laws on bleeding. At that time, blood disease could wipe out an entire group of people! They had no antibiotics etc. So women were told basically that during menstruation they were to go to the edge of camp and not return until it was done (for which many hardworking women were probably grateful!).
As to fasting, it is seriously not a good idea to fast during menstruation, there is too much going on in a womans body and she should not refrain from nourishment, it would eventually affect her health.
Hope that helped!

Can you tell me from where do you get the idea that a woman is 'impure' during menstruation and because she is 'dirty' therefore she can't pray. What is your source from the Quran , Hadith and the Scholar Consensus?
I thought my mum saw menstruation as God's way of rewarding a woman with a medical leave, a public holiday for all the hard work that she has done. She is given this leave so that she can concentrate on her well being and, for a few days, can relax without rushing for salaat, starving herself in fast, have sex with her demanding husband. (This is the perfect 'headache' for her to say No.) She is free to do invocations and doas and recite Quran from memory, without having to do the salaat. I think this is perfect plan.
BTW I think your bleeding analogy is non-contextual.

Don't have a clue as to what the wudu and all that is; but this was interesting to find out about!
I'm just wondering why is it a guy who's asking this question and not a lady, though?

It is not only in Islam.
In the Bible it says:
"When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening. anything she lies on during her period will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean. Whoever touches her bed must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Whoever touches anything she sits on must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Whether it is the bed or anything she was sitting on, when anyone touches it, he will be unclean till evening." Leviticus 15:19-23
"Do not approach a woman to have sexual relations during the uncleanness of her monthly period." Leviticus 18:19
In Judaism, "Our Rabbis taught:....if a menstruant woman passes between two (men), if it is at the beginning of her menses she will slay one of them, and if it is at the end of her menses she will cause strife between them" (bPes. 111a.)
Furthermore, the husband of a menstruous woman was forbidden to enter the synagogue if he had been made unclean by her even by the dust under her feet. A priest whose wife, daughter, or mother was menstruating could not recite priestly blessing in the synagogue. 10 No wonder many Jewish women still refer to menstruation as "the curse." 11
Islam does not consider a menstruating woman to possess any kind of "contagious uncleanness". She is neither "untouchable" nor "cursed." She practises her normal life with only one restriction: A married couple are not allowed to have sexual intercourse during the period of menstruation. Any other physical contact between them is permissible. A menstruating woman is exempted from some rituals such as daily prayers and fasting during her period.

yes in the quran it does say that we are impure when we mensturate but also when u said that u dont break wudu if u have a condition means as a physical illness like accidentally urinating that is not natural but for instance when a woman is mesturating her body is rejecting the embryos that have not been fertilized and it is cleaning itself out which is also why when women are mensturating they are not supposed to have any intercourse beacause it is unclean the body is pushing things out so u are not supposed to let things in

it's not just blood coming out, it is the womb's lining shedding as well. It is not the same as blood from a cut.
Secondly, this is a physically difficult time for women, iron loss anemia, bloating, etc etc..... so Alhamdulillah, Allah has made it easy for us by exempting us from the salat prostration prayers during this time.
Meanwhile, the woman can always pray supplications etc, just not the prostrtion prayers.

Leviticus 15:19 And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.
God considers a woman to be uncleaned when she is on her cycle. It's God's business that He feels that a man should not touch his wife while she is on her cycle. women are not advertize when they are on their cycle, but so many of them do. I dont' know why they do that.
Leviticus 15:33 And of her that is sick of her flowers, and of him that hath an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lieth with her that is unclean.

It is the absolute commandments of the God, no question asked. Muslims have to abide the laws set up by the God, Because no body could know human better than God. It is totally forbiden for a female to perform prayers or fasting but they can always replace their prayers or fasting when their menstration is over.

This is superstitious tradition based on spiritual truth. There are forces at
work that come behind Creation, and clean it up! Recycle it.
These forces are attracted to "blood", which has a high concentration of
spiritual energy after it leaves the body.
I would think we could find more sophisticated ways to deal with this in our day and age. Praying and fasting would, I think, help to overcome negative
spiritual energies.
