They are talking on the news about the guy in Kansas City who has been handing out money for years, and he talked about the one guy who gave to him at the worst time of his life.

Can you think of one time someone did something for you for no other reason than to help and what did they do? Did you pay it forward?

Mav, years ago I was a runaway, living in the streets. I found myself in Ellensburg, Washington. The weather was cold, I had a few bucks to eat on, but there was a problem. I had no shoes. I couldn't enter a store or restaurant for a meal without them, and I hadn't eaten in days.

So there I was...cold, hungry, tired, miserable.

A woman I had never met before approached me and asked what size shoes I wore. When I told her, she took the shoes off her own feet and gave them to me. I tried to protest, but she wouldn't hear it.

Words cannot express what her actions meant to me. I was now able to eat, and get inside out of the cold. I wore those shoes until they fell apart, and I still have them as a reminder of a stranger's love.

I have had many similar good deeds done for me, usually by perfect strangers. I try to pay it forward everyday Mav. Yet people doubt my sincerity, and I don't understand why.

there are so many cases where others have helped me just to be helping it would take years to relate them all. here is one example my DVD player went bye - bye. a fantastic friend sent me a brand new one with four movies just because she knew I liked and needed a new one. another time when my wife was dying I called a ( lodge ) brother since I couldn't drive. he left his home more than 9 miles away picked me up and made it to the hospital 15 miles away in less than 15 minutes. he asked if I had any money and I didn't. he gave me his credit card along with the pin number and told me to use it if I needed it. when a lady needed financial help to keep her house I went to bat for her loaning her the money so of course I would do this again. what goes around comes around. ( I loaned the lady the money before these other episodes took place )

Yes Mav! So much has been done for me I can't remember all of it or know the names of the ones who helped. I live in Hurricane Katrina country. So many people have helped us and continue to help. Some people have moved here after coming right after the storm. They say being here has given them meaning in their lives. My 2nd cousin met his new wife while working here last year. Maybe that is how we pay the people who have helped us back. Do you think?

Yes, there have been many blessings for me and my family, especially at times when we have needed it. At a low time in my life, there was a church that I didn't even belong to and they brought boxes of food and toys for my kids for Christmas. I was not expecting this at all, and had not even requested it.
Now, 11 years later I do contribute back. I give food to organizations for the needy and I give toys to other people's children because I have never forgotten that I was shown so much love and I want others to feel that love too.

Hello sweet Mav.. :)

Yes..a sister in Christ..sent me some money to have my car repaired, it did not cost as much as she sent to me, so the Lord had me send the rest to a man in Egypt..whom I do not even know..after he received the money he thanked me for being kind to him, even though he was not a Christian..I told him, that the gift was not from me..but from the Lord.. :)

The joy of the Lord has been within my heart for weeks..knowing that I have done as the Lord touched my heart to do..give unto others..if we have done it unto the least of our brethren, we have done it unto Him.. :)

Great Question Mav.. Ten Thumbs UP

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

I certainly try to. God has been gracious enough to me to have allowed many "angels" to touch my life and I try to do the same things for others as often as I can. Good question Mav...

Oh, Mav, this is such a good question .... how could i forget people who provided education for me and my brother at a time we were refugees in a foreign country? I can never pay them back, I can only pray for them. I know God hears me.

there are so many little things th@ were actually big things, not because of the physical occurence, but because of the nrg involved

"Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophets reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man' reward"
its not necessarily the action but the intention.

People are always helping me. My boyfriend spoils me rotten, and I am so grateful for him everyday. My friends help me out with my problems. One friend I have even empathised with someone who told him he was f*cking his life up. I have good people around me. Thanks for reminding me of that fact.
I hope I am good to people also. I try but often do not succeed, and I hope that people know, hope that the people who matter to me know, I really do try.

In real life, and not in yahoo/comedy central - I pay it forward every day in some way. because I love God and God loves me, and I pay it forward to PAY HIM BACK for everything he's done for me.
