I just watched the DAvinci code and I know some of it is true and some is embellished. I dont think it matters. The point the movie tried to make was that their is a possibility that Jesus was an extroidinary man who lived his life like a man, and was an example to man not to god on how to live your life with god working through you. This is how man can accomplish everything> Does it matter whether he was divine or not. Wasnt his actions divine? What difference does it make if he was god or not? What greater gift could god give us then the reflection of who we can become if we open ourselves to his divinity, then his divinity works through us. Why would the church be threatened by some secret that portrays Jesus as a man. Dosent this action put more of a seperation between man and god. In fact the very ideal contradicts what seems to be gods intentions for man. To me instead of being offeneded by such suggestions, we instead should find hope within ourselves. Just wondering?

Only God's perfection can save us from the imperfection that has seeped into our very souls. A "good man" or "great teacher" cannot save us from our sins; neither can an angel save us, as at least one "Christian" cult believes. Only God has this power. A careful consideration of the entire Bible proves that God reserves salvation to Himself ONLY and has never delegated it to a merely human prophet or priest.

The Bible foretold that, particularly in the end times, there would be false teachers who would "secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed." (2 Peter 2:1b-2)

1 John 2:22-23 explains it is the "spirit of the antichrist" that prompts these destructive heresies: "22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also." Most know Jesus' teaching that He and the Father are One Being and that if you've seen the Son, you've seen the Father (John 10:30, 14:1-12 and 17:11). False teachers attack the very IDENTITY of Jesus Christ as God in the Flesh; these teachings are so contradictory to Scripture, that they are from Satan himself and are thus called "antichrist."

Yes, it's vital to understand WHO Jesus was; if we place our faith on anyone or anything other than God, we are lost.

Peace.

The areas that you are talking about don't seem to matter, but what really matters is redemption. If Jesus was not God He could not purchase for His people their eternal salvation. A finite being cannot pay for infinite sin. As God Jesus was an eternal being and therefore able to purchase eternal life for those who would believe in Him.

As far as the Davinci Code, I think it is wrong to take a historical person and write a fictional story about them. That is defamation of character. If you are going to write a fictional story make up a fictional character. That book has brought the character of Christ down from God the creator of the universe to a good man, not to mention the other characters that were real people and have now had placed upon them imagery that is totaly degrading to them. I think he has taken litery licience too far and slandered people who millions of others see as part of God's divine plan.

That is really a good question, and one that I myself have been pondering all my life. Islam teaches that Jesus was born a prophet of God, not a God himself. It is because of God that he could perform miracles because when he asked- God gave him. Growing up- I respected Christianity and loved Jesus as a great teacher, and a man to emulate. When I was told by Christians if I did not accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior I would go to hell- I was shocked. Why>?
Because where I am from there are many Jews- who follow only the Old Testaments and do not believe in Jesus- and there are Muslims- who believe Jesus was one of the greatest prophets of God ever, but who only pray to the Creator of Life and Earth , who is God. I am still confused as to this Day. All I know is: Jesus was real, God is real, and in my prayers I thank Jesus for what he gave us all, and I pray to God and I thank God and I ask God for forgiveness.

it particularly is amazingly clean in the Bible that the only thank you to the daddy is throughout the time of the Son. Christians have confidence in the Bible because of the fact the be attentive to God and the Jesus is God the Son. In Christianity Jesus is the only thank you to the daddy, for this reason it makes a difference in case you think in Jesus without Jesus there would be no forgiveness of sin.

Hi there! The church has a BIG BIG BIG BIG investment in the idea that Jesus is 'God'. Think about it. I do believe Jesus was a prophet and was tapped into the Divine. But we all can be to some degree or another.

Is that movie worth watching?

I cannot agree with you. I can accept Jesus as good man-a teacher-even a prophet. But, to call him G-d, I feel is offensive and against G-d. There is no G-d but G-d. And, G-d is One. We were told, ''I am the Lord your G-d, and you shall no other G-ds but me''.

It really doesn't make a difference to people. It just makes a difference to the church. How else would they "sell" eternal life?

I am glad to see your still around :)

The devinci code is a lie and is created by those who follow satan. No Christian should ever go to see that trashy blasphemous movie. There is no truth to it, but all lies.

I don't think it matters and He might have been both. I am. I know because sometimes my wife says oh man this is great and sometimes she say oh god oh god oh god.
