A dent in the driver will affect a pros game to some degree but for an amature golfer I dont think it would make a hill of beans difference.

The only real difference it could make to an amature is a phycologicle difference if anything. Dont run out and spend hundreds of dollars on a new driver.

Yes it does. The dent around the body will affect the balance of the club head. That in turn affects how the driver impacts the ball, which affects how the ball spins, thus lost of control and distance.

If the dent is on the face, the face should be cracked already because the club face of modern drivers are very thin.

Time to get a new driver.

A small dent on the bottom shouldn't affect it's performance very much. Have you noticed any difference? What is the lesson we have learned here? Never let a friend hit your brand new driver - they always try to kill it, make a bad swing and do some damage. Let them buy their own.

More than likely the dent will change the bulge and roll measurement in your driver and this will affect both control and distance. I'm afraid most manufacturers will not replace the clubhead if it was dented.

A dent will effect the aerodynamics on the club head reducing the speed at which it can travel. All that will play into effect of control and distance.

If it is on the face of the driver, yes. Not so much on the top or sides.
