when you are (you're) a kid, you use up lots of energy just growing, and running around, and being a kid.
when you're an adult, you use up less.

There are 3 times in a person's life that they will create and store a large amount of fat cells and that is 1) Last month of development in the womb 2) The first year of life and 3) During their growth spurt in adolescence. Therefore, these fat cells are normal and healthy. When the child is young it is a matter of that their bodies are sucking every last bit of nutrients from ANYTHING they eat. Also, during adolescence, the tolls can be seen from unhealthy eating habits. But the largest factor in everything is metabolism. When adults (women I'm not so sure about men) reach around 30 yrs old their metabolism decreases and they sometimes put on weight if their exercise routine isn't vigorous enough. Hope this helps!

When you're still a kid you're still growing and all the fat in your food is being used to develop bones and your brain instead of being store as tummy fat. Kids also tend to run around more and exercise. Hormones also play a role as kids go through puberty. But look around you! There are lots of fat kids as well.

Look around you, there are many many fat kids! The reason some still manage to stay at a reasonable weight is high activity levels...;

generally it is because kids run around alot, but today you will find fat b*satards at any age because kids are now programmed not to run around and be active, therefore do not burn off the excess calories.
