Hairspray does not cause flakes. Cheap hairsprays can cause build up on your hair. You need to clarify your hair at a local salon to be sure you don't have a build up on your hair (product build up can cause severe breakage). If you don't want a stiff hairspray looked for Paul Mitchell Worked Up Hair spray. It's a working spray that still allows your hair to move while holding the shape of each curl.

Sebastian shaper is a strong hold hairspray, we use it for Updos it's so strong. You don't want to use that one.

I hope this helps!!!

Sebastian Shaper can be purchased at most hair salons and specialty stores in the malls.

Aveda Air Control can be bought at any Aveda store or Aveda hair concept salon. Pricy. I think this is the best hair spray ever invented.

Both of these sprays let you continue to style your hair even after spraying. I find they last all day without touch ups.

AVEDA Brilliant Hair Spray & AVEDA Brilliant Damage Control Hairspray are great hairsprays to use. They also have a fresh-from-the-salon smell to them! You can find these hairsprays at aveda.com or at your nearest AVEDA salon.
