Not a professional cam.... just something which takes good photos

Well i don't know if you have made your mind for this cam, but i advice you not to because benq is not the best company between the other brands. My dear, the best thing in your cam to have good quality picture is simply the lense. So i advice you to search again and look for Kodak or Canon digital cams.
I've bought a cam lately and it's really great, called Kodak z-650. So re-consider your choices and i wish you good luck.

IMO in cameras the make does matter.
Go for a big name I have a very good Kodak z612 myself but any good make IE: Cannon,Sony,Fuji,Olympus,Nikon or Minolta would be your best bet. And worth a little extra expense.Build quality is also very likely to be much better so it could well cost you less in the long run by paying a bit more now.
If you are just after cheap rather then good and you are not much bothered if the camera only last for a year then the BenQ C530 is as good as any (I have a very cheap very old Fuji that I just keep in the car) and it serves its purpose just fine. With no worries if it gets smashed or stolen.

Do not buy it. Go for name brands as per your 2nd and 3rd answerer answered.
