I'd really like to remove IE from my computer because I've had nothing but problems like viruses and spyware when I've used it. I'm now using either Opera or Firefox, but I'd still like to remove IE even though I'm not using it anymore. How can I delete IE from my system folder? I have Windows XP.

Also, before I totally remove IE, is there a way to import my IE bookmarks into either Firefox or Opera?

I do not know how to tell you to import your bookmarks into either Firefox or Opera, and am not sure you can. But if you want to completely remove Internet Explorer from your computer, you must uninstall it. Be sure that one of your choices (Firefox or Opera) is installed before you do this, or you will not have internet access at all.

To uninstall: Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and click on the Show updates box at the top. After everything loads, find Internet Explorer and click on it, then click on the Remove box on the right. It will ask if you are sure you want to remove it and all its files, and if you are sure, click on OK. Close Control Panel and restart your computer. IE will be gone.

Internet is an integral part of windows OS. It is the part of windows, so you cannot completely remove it. However, you can roll back to basic IE if you have installed any new version.
And also you can make Opera or Firefox your default browser so that it takes over the work of internet explorer and you don't have to worry about IE any more.
Bye.
