I was on my computer earlier and went to conrol panels, add or remove programs, and then selected the add or remove programs tab on the left (windows computer) and then I deselected all the boxes in the table except for MSN - as the purpose was to DELETE MSN from my computer. Anyhow, whilst it was deleting I selected cancel and it said 'process not finished or something so I thought it would be fine; but now, all the standard computer games such as minesweeper and freecell and all that are gone. The standard window programs like word and excel are still there. Do you know what it is I did WRONG or how I can FIX IT?
I'm stressed as i'm a student and my computer's like a lifeline to me; so I want it to have ALL its standard functions.

If you have xp you can restore, goto start, programs, accessories, system tools, restore.

Or go back to where you checked the boxes and see if the items are still there and recheck the boxes and add them.

Hmm... U r another client of this Microsoft's confusing navigation system. I think u 've deleted from Windows Components Wizard. Left Third entry. This software works on a simple but horrible funtion "If the software which is checked, is already installed uninstall them. if not then install them (only for checked valued s/w). As u r saying it means u have gives the order to delete all these software except MSN. And they were deleted because they were already installed.
So now Go to Same Process Again>> and check all ur "boxes" (yes MSN also 'coz u want to delete it..) and they will all come.

Please don't panic, it won't help.
Can you see the "Recycle Bin" on your desktop?
If so, go in there, and you can recover the files you deleted.
