I just found out yesterday that he died in August of this year. That is all I know.
Where can I find more information like cause of death, where and if he is buried, anything.
I haven't seen or spoken to him in over 15 years and any help would be wonderful.
You can e-mail me for his name and info if needed.
Thanks.

Here are some more details.
He lived on the other side of the state so I'd really like to have as much information before I drive over with no clue as to where to go.
I don't have any contact information for his family, only his number and it's disconnected.
I've checked the newspaper's site and the obits only go back 7 days.
I've checked the Social Security site and he's on there.
Is there any way I can find out if he had a service, a burial, anything?

tells how to get an obituary.

If you strike out there, his death certificate will tell you cause of death and who took charge of the mortal remains. That will almost always be a funeral home. They in turn will have records of where he is buried, where the funeral was, who paid for the service, and maybe who officiated. Whoever paid for the service may be willing to talk to you about him. (You didn't say why you hadn't spoken for 15 years. If he ran off with another woman, leaving your mom alone, and you know this O.W. paid for the service, ignore that last line.) If a minister officiated, you could call him/her. She/he might have known your dad.

The funeral home may have a program left over from the funeral. Call the county clerk in his county to see how you get a death certificate. It will cost you $5 to $25, depending on the state.

I would try the local funeral homes first. Just call them and ask if they made arrangements for him in August/September. You can also try to get a death certificate from the court. If he belonged to a church you could also try calling the local churches of his denomination. You could also hire a private investigator but that might get a little pricey. Try calling the local paper and seeing if they can check the old obituaries and death notices - they will often work with you. Good luck.

Try and find his obit in the paper of the town where he lived. You should also be able to see the death certificate if you contact the town clerk.

Hi, send me a private message with his name and dates and I will see what I can do for you. I have several resources that aren't free sites on the internet. Blessings and I hope that I can help. Take care.
