Jesus, the basis of Christianity, was supposed to have sacrificed his life.

Did you ever hear of a hero who sacrificed a life and was alive afterwards?

If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.

Can Gods die?

If Jesus 'died' on Friday and walked on Sunday, was he really dead and gone?

Besides Saturday what did Jesus sacrifice?

He gave on Friday and he took it back on Sunday according to the eyewitnesses.

Not a REAL giver.

I have read the other answers to these questions and your thoughts. I for one am appalled by many of the answers.

I will try to explain to you what you are seeking for. I would hope that you have a Bible; the KJV is what I use.

1)Jesus, the basis of Christianity, was supposed to have sacrificed his life.

By faith we believe that Christ is the Son of the Living God. Faith comes by hearing and reading the Word of God.
Did the Son of God die yes; satan has so twisted the relationship between the Father and the Son that almost all “christain” denominations say that Christ is God, while if one reads the Bible it is easy to see that Christ is Only The Son Of the One True God. Here are a few texts to read.
1 Cor 8:6 “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.”
Eps 4:6 “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
1 Tim 2:5 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”
There are many others, read Proverbs 8:22-36. This is Christ speaking, interesting read this one.
Read also John 14, this chapter along with John 17 destroys the trinity belief.
Matthew 16:13-19 tells us who Christ is.

Did you ever hear of a hero who sacrificed a life and was alive afterwards?

No I have not because there is no “hero” that is the Son of God.

If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.

Can Gods die?

God cannot die and He is immortal. Christ is the Son of God and not God It is by this belief that I can over come sin and the world. 1 Tim 1:17, 1 Tim6:16

If Jesus 'died' on Friday and walked on Sunday, was he really dead and gone?

Yes, Jesus was truly died; it was His father that raised him from the grave.

Besides Saturday what did Jesus sacrifice?

Here is a good one. Christ did not “sacrifice” Saturday. He sacrificed himself for my sins. He did away with all the ceremonial laws or the “laws of Moses”. They were nailed to the cross along with Him.
The Moral Laws or Ten Commandments, are the witness of God, these where never nailed to the cross nor could they have been. For they show us who God is and how we are to love and serve Him and how we are to love our selves and our fellow man. These were not nailed to the cross nor are they abolished.
I think it laughable that people want the 10 Commandments back in out government buildings and in schools and they refuse to follow all 10 of them. They want to keep 9 out of 10. Why is that?

Peace and Grace

I have seen this question in many forms and it is a valid question. You are right when you say if Jesus died he could not have been God for God cannot die. The scriptures are quite clear on this matter. It is impossible for God to die.

As to the sacrifice of Jesus, it is helpful to clear up a little confusion. In order to understand what he sacrificed, we have to understand what was lost. Put another way, Jesus bought back what Adam lost. What did Adam lose? Adam forfeited the right and opportunity to live forever as a perfect human being on earth. Since Adam and Eve sinned before they had children, that right and opportunity was unavailable for their children as well. This is very important. Jesus bought that back. How? By sacrificing his perfect human earthly life. This is the key. When he was born, Jesus was a perfect human. That is why 1 Corinthians 15:45 calls him the last Adam who became a life-giving spirit. Only a perfect human being could buy back what Adam lost – only a perfect human being could perfectly balance God’s scale of justice. But Jesus lived in the heavens as a spirit person before he was born as a human. So when God resurrected him, he eventually returned to the heavens as the spirit creature. Jesus did not sacrifice his life. He sacrificed his perfect HUMAN life. That is what Hebrews 9:24 explains: he appeared before the true God with the value of his sacrifice.

If I owe you twenty dollars and I pay you twenty dollars, then go into my pocket and pull out another twenty dollars, that does not mean I haven’t paid you what I owed you. I did pay you. I owed you twenty dollars. I didn’t owe you THE ONLY twenty dollars in the universe. It is similar with Jesus. Jesus sacrificed his perfect, human, earthly life. But he did NOT sacrifice the right to live as a spirit person which he enjoyed before becoming a human.

Was he really dead and gone? Yes. The person resurrected was not human. Jesus was resurrected in the spirit just as 1 Peter 3:18-19 teaches.

Heros who sacrifice their lives only have one life - a human life. But Jesus lived as a spirit person long BEFORE he was born as a human. Jesus sacrificed his human life - not his right to live as a spirit person. Do we get the sense of this?

First of all, Jesus is not God and never proffessed to be. He is Gods son and master worker.
Jesus could therefore die, as he did do as a "ransom sacrifice". He gave up his earthly life and was in sheol the grave( for 3 days before his resurrection, but for those 3 days, he no longer existed.
So, apart from Saturday, Jesus gave the biggest sacrifice that a man can, he gave his life, but he didn't just die for us, he suffered on our behalf too.

Jesus' body died,
He descended to the realm of the dead.
He rose on the Third day.
40 days later He ascended to the Father.

Several eye witnesses reported seeing Him. These events are recorded with great veracity considering the times.

People don't give up their lives over myths and legends. Either Jesus was who he said he was...God, or He was a totally insane man with a very elaborate special effects crew. It's one or the other.

You choose.

Jesus' entire life was a sacrifice in that he suffered in the flesh by yielding to the Father's will and choosing to be obedient in every situation he encountered. See First Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

John 8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Ghost are all one in the same, divided at times to accomplish all of Gods will and divine plan for this world. Yes Jesus is God. Yes He did die and was ressurected from the dead. Yes He did sacrifice Himself for all people ,including people who try so hard to descredit all the wonderful things He has done out of the Love He has for us including YOU!

properly, he died by decision, he would have struck anybody that fluctuate into attempting to kill him down if he needed. and once you assert he undied, he exchange into resurrected purely for about a minutes on earth after serving time in hell, which could be a extensive sacrifice in itself, and then exchange into despatched to heaven, so his existence on earth exchange into sacrificed. and your tale approximately getting all your money decrease back could be between the stupidest issues I even have ever heard, Jesus did no longer get to stay out something of his existence on earth, he went to heaven, that's the place each and every christian hopes to bypass whilst they die, so by asserting that, you assert that all and sundry people who's a Christian can in no way sacrifice their existence, because of the fact they are going to be despatched to heaven or hell besides.

A song I like:

He left the splendor of Heaven,
Knowing His destiny,
On the lonely hill of Golgotha,
There to lay down His life for me.

Here's another:

Amazing love! How can it be that a King would die for me?
Amazing love! I know it's true. And it's my joy to honor You
in all I do.
