It is very hard to get a job as a commercial (airline pilot), -- you have all the "old military" guys with thousands of hours in the air to compete with! Now "flyjng for pay" as commercial pilot with a private firm is a little easier, but is still hard to find a good one that pays good (though there are some that pay better than airlines!)

Aeronautical engieer of course has it's competition also, - but the field is a lot larger to begin with!

And then there is tha chance that you can be both at the same time, -- being a "flight enginer", -- if this is done on a very large aircraft, - you can be quite valueable, - and at the same be a 2nd backup pilot in case of emergency in flight--- or sometimes the co-pilot is both while serving in "2nd seat"!

I am private pilot, and got commercial certificate, - just to make sure "me & mine" all had sufficient protection while flying!

i'm almost to do an aeronautical engineering degree, and that i will fly section time throughout it, so i will use the degree as a backup. with the help of the time I end the degree I must have the total cpl with endorsements, i'd favor to commit some months after it to end off the license although that. I gained't easily paintings as an engineer until eventually i will't fly for in spite of the indisputable fact that reason.

engineer - you can get a job out of college - a pilot has to pay their dues for years and pray one day to find a good job

you could be both.

The engineering degree is harder to obtain, however the industry is in need of engineers so will paywell, but you can alway get your privite license and work on your ratings while bringing in a nice income.

No one knows that except you. I would say the SALARY of the engineer would be a better deal. Go with your heart.
