I have connected my laptop to my 32" LCD TV via and S-Video lead! The picture on the tv is very distorted though and writing is unreadable! What setting to i have to change on my laptop in order to correct this!

The resolution needs altering from the control panel and then select appearence and themes.After that select the display icon and go to settings which is located top leftish,adjust screen resolution by sliding the pointer....I think lol

I've always found that my laptop adjusts itself. The only time I had this problem I eventually worked out that the cables were faulty!

Also worth checking, if you're on a cable box, if it makes any difference when the cable box is switched off.

When you've check those then play with the resolutions and outputs.

depends on your tv. if its an American TV, set your video card on your laptop to "NTSC" output, which should produce a 60hz picture.

If its an european model then the picture should be "PAL" and output pictures at 50hz.

You will find these settings on your "Display Properties" (via control panel), and click on "Settings>Advanced".
