Learn to love your curls! Continual straightening with straightening rods etc. actually damage the hair follicles and are very bad for the health of your scalp. An unhealthy scalp will eventually lead to hair loss - and this could be permanent. Grow it longer and find styles that emphasize your best facial features. You might try some curl defining products - which bring out the curl and eliminate frizz.

Curly hair does sometimes become really unmanagable, but then using straightening rods frequently can do irreversible damage to the hair follicles as well as the texture of the hair as a whole. U can do something, try out products other than straightening rods which can straighten your hair.

Well i have curly hair too and i guess its better not to do a permanent straightening. We do not know how badly will it effect our hair which is already very curly.U can go to parlour to do ironing. If u find it costly buy a good pair of tongs which will cost u somewhere around 1000-1500rs.Though it is costly it will be for a life time and will save ur money which u spend in parlour to make ur hair straight. If u have shoulder length hair then i guess ironing costs 500-600rs which is expensive. So think what u wanna do and then decide.

Oh honey I know all about that, I straighten my very curly hair several times a month. It's really annoying, but I love my hair straight - when it's curly, it's really frizzy and thick.

Yeah, I wouldn't do the permanent straightening either, I read up on it and heard it didn't last long and doesn't get your hair pin straight either, so you'd still have to break out the flat iron anyway!

I think we're bound to years and years of flat ironing to get our nice sleek, straight looks. :(

Suave came out with this stuff that's supposed to be for heat styling your hair and I bought it since I had tried to use a curling iron to smooth out my curly hair ( sounds stupid but if you have curly hair you understand ). Anyway - it's in an orange spray bottle and it leaves my hair frizz free whether I blow dry or air dry. It's pretty awesome! Ok I just googled it and it's the "Sleek" line from Suave and it's supposed to be as good as Matrix. I haven't tried the shampoo and conditioner but I will soon.

Get an ironing machine and iron ur hair in ur house so that u can have straight hairs only when needed. dont go to beauty parlours... ironing machines will surely work out well.. but make sure that u apply gels to make it for a long time... and buy the machine which is famous.... i do this only...
