I'm cool with many things. My son is hanging around me though, so all of a suden I think it would be great to get the sex out of the singles and dating area. We've got kids asking questions on here, and they themselves may not know exactly how they feel about being exposed to this. Curious, but unsure nonetheless.
And of course, we should be watching our kids... still, ti is what it is, we could create a separate area...

When I say hanging around, I mean ten feet away, absorbed in the TV, not reading this stuff!

I agree we need a separte area. Sometimes when I sign in and the all catergorie comes up I will look through it and their are some sexual questions. It would be nice not to see those come up in that area. And if for some reason I needed to go there it would only be a click away instead of it being instantly on my computer.

Also if we could could set our computers so chiildern couldn't "accedently" get into that area and it could only be entered by pass word would be neat.

Ofcourse that doesn't solve the whole problem cause some childern would still get on yahoo and ask sex questions in lets say the psychology catergorie. It is up to us to ignore those questions.

What scares me is what kind of advice would we give to a child about sex. Some may tell a 13 year old to go for it, knowing or maybe not knowing this person is only a child. I personally wouldn't want anyone else talking about sex to my child.

The childern and teenagers that do ask about sex on here I feel sad for them, because they must feel that they have to ask strangers and not talk to their parents. When I was a teen I dare not mention the word sex to my Dad. He would have flipped his lid. So in a sense I understand some of their questions, but the vulger questions worry me only because I have a child and I worry about what he will be like when he his older. Ofcourse I won't be the parent who flips out over the word sex. Education is the best way to approach this. (I think it is anyhow)

No. there are many places people can go to chat, post and view sexually explicit material. It should not be on here, kids would get to it if they wanted to!
My kids are adults now, but I wouldn't have been happy with them seeing some of the rubbish that is put on here when they were younger...;

When you were a kid did you want to talk about sex to your parent, i don't think so. Yes there are kids giving kids advice on here and yes i think the people take the answer that they want to here not necessarily the one that is right but its no different than you best friend telling you what to do and you doing it, its what you want to hear not what you need to hear. At least on here you get a broad spectrum of answers.

You said it yourself.......This is just one out of the millions of sexually explicit material that's on the Internet so, it would be a bit difficult in filtering the good from the bad because whether we enact laws or not, people are going to continue to post explicit material.

So, its up to you to block this site or not.

If you don't want your kids reading this stuff, you can always set the filter on your computer to where they can't read this stuff without the password, which only you would know. It's freedom of speech and if people want to ask sexual questions, they have every right.

Either that or keep your son out of the singles & dating area...
If he isn't old enough for sex then he isn't old enough for dating...
